Estimated dementia prevalence figures suggest that there are 15,459 people living with dementia in Lancashire and this is projected to increase to 21,472 by 2025.
It is therefore vital that we continually improve awareness and the quality of training regarding dementia in order to improve standards and the quality of life for people affected. Symptoms of dementia include memory loss, confusion and problems with speech and understanding. Dementia is a terminal condition.

About the Tour
The Virtual Dementia Tour is the only scientifically and medically proven method of giving a person with a healthy brain an experience of what dementia might be like. By understanding dementia from the person’s point of view we can change practice, reduce barriers and truly make a difference.
The Virtual Dementia Tour helps professionals and family members to truly understand that by making adjustments to their care they can really start to improve the lives of people living with dementia.
The Lancashire Virtual Dementia Tour is funded solely through Age Concern’s charitable resources and is provided to professionals and family members free of charge.
