Do Your Own Challenge

People have raised funds for Regenerage in many ways, from cycling mad Grandads riding 315 miles to rollerblading teenagers blazing a trail for the oldies!

We’re always extremely grateful for the support of people just like you and amazed at the stuff that folk are prepared to do!

Tough mudders, colour runs, abseiling, marathons, swimming and skydiving, if you fancy a challenge then why not help Regenerage in the process?

Read about Laura & Michael’s reason for fundraising for Regenerage…

‘Regenerage has been a huge source of support for our family over the past few years. Charnley Fold in Bamber Bridge allowed our grandad, Bill Sharples and currently allows our Aunty Marie to maintain a level of independence in a safe and supportive environment, that wouldn’t have been possible without you. The support and guidance you provide families has also been something that has helped us no end since my grandad’s diagnosis. My grandad is now in a care home, but he used to love nothing more than going ‘to work’ (as he called it) at Charnley Fold and putting his woodwork talents to good use restoring furniture and helping out in the gardens.

For this, and many more reasons aside, we (Lauren and Mike), decided to raise money by completing ’Rat Race Dirty Weekend’ on Saturday 7th May. Mike had to overcome his fear of heights, multiple times, and I had to conquer my fear of well…everything really! The 20 miles and 200 obstacles certainly wasn’t a walk in the park, but with the support of our team of friends, we managed to make it over the finish line!

This was a bit of a reach away from our day jobs where I (Lauren) am a teacher in a local primary school and my brother (Mike) is a dentist. We have always been close, but having this shared goal made us rely on each other in a totally different way! Raising money by completing this challenge was just our way of saying thank you, as well as giving us that extra motivation to cross the finishing line!

The outdoors are very important for my grandad and Auntie Marie and so, if possible, it would mean a lot to use if the donation could perhaps go towards something for the outside area, perhaps a bench? When my grandad stopped going to his groups, we donated some tools, so something to link with that really would be lovely. It really would mean a lot to us as a family. Thank you!’
