Dear Customers,

Age Concern Central Lancashire recognises that our customers may be worried about the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the ability of the charity to deliver services over the coming weeks and months.

Currently, we are operating as normal and a considerable amount of work has been undertaken in recent weeks to review our plans to ensure the charity can respond effectively to the possibility of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) escalating.

In terms of our response to the virus, we have adopted a balanced approach at this moment in time and have issued guidance to all staff and volunteers in regards to the threat locally within Lancashire. In essence; we have encouraged staff and volunteers to refer to recognised information sources such as NHS and UK Government channels for updates about the virus and how to reduce associated risk factors and would encourage our customers and their carers to do the same (see page two).

We recognise that older people and those with underlying health conditions are more vulnerable to Coronavirus and are therefore taking the threat seriously.
In this regard we will continue to monitor developments closely and check, modify and update our plans in accordance with NHS and UK Government advice. Further updates will be provided to our customers and their carers as the situation advances.

Please rest assured that our services remain in full operation until otherwise stated by the charity. However; to protect yourself and others, should you feel unwell and think you may have symptoms associated with the virus, we encourage customers and their carers to seek NHS advice prior to attending our centres or receiving our support in the home (see NHS Online Coronavirus Service on page two or dial 111).
