Age Concern Central Lancashire with the help of local businesses has organised a ‘Night in at the movies’ for older people across Lancashire who remain in lockdown. Complete with popcorn, pizza and snacks Age Concern Central Lancashire added to the movie packages by providing donated DVDs from its charity shops.
The charity has been helping older people across Lancashire get the essential support they need during the pandemic and recent figures released showed that over 800 enquiries have been made to the Coronavirus Support Service, over 950 welfare and free food parcels delivered and a further 3,200 check in calls made in just the first 60 days of the service launching. Projects like this and the Afternoon Tea that was delivered by volunteers ahead of VE day celebrations provide older people who are accessing Age Concern Central Lancashire’s services a much needed boost as their lockdown continues.
